Hardfork in the Monero network to protect against ASIC miners is scheduled for March 9,

Following the successful updates of the networks Ethereum and Tron, which occurred only a few days ago, another popular cryptocurrency – Monero , plans to hold a hard forks, which date is scheduled for March 9, 2019, block number 1788000.
Earlier, we wrote that this very controversial decision was made by a narrow circle of developers in a closed chat, which caused discontent on the part of the non-participating community. However, to all appearances, disputes and controversies did not lead to any changes and the network will be updated according to the planned scenario.
The schedule for GitHub reports that the next day, March 10, will be followed by another hardfork, which will prohibit the old transaction format, which will be changed on March 9. Both updates will occur on the same version of the client v0.14.0.0.
Monero's hardfork will be held mainly to protect the network from ASIC miners who, despite the update in mid-October 2018, according to a recent study, captured 85% of the current Monero network hashrate.
