The blockchain technology will speed up the processing of exam results and protect them from falsification, according to Rosobrnadzor.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia plans to introduce the blockchain technology into the Unified State Exam (EGE) already in 2019. This writes the TASS with reference to the statement of the head of Rosobrnadzor Sergei Kravtsov.

According to Kravtsov, the distributed registry will be applied along with the new rules for printing and scanning exam tickets directly to the classroom where the exam is being held.

Earlier, the head of the Rosobrnadzor said that the blockchain would make the process of passing, checking and publishing the exam results transparent. In addition, the technology will provide reliable data storage and eliminate fake.

Distributed registry can reduce the time for processing the results of the exam in two or three times, he summed up.

In the State Duma previously offered an even more radical use of the blockchain during exams. Boris Chernyshev, deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, proposed that the Ministry of Education replace the USE with a system for identifying young talents, which will work on the basis of a distributed registry. However, the ministry did not support the idea of a parliamentarian.

Last spring, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Panfilova, said that the next presidential election in Russia in 2024 would be held on the blockchain. Testing of the electoral system based on a distributed registry will take place during the elections to the Federal Assembly.
