Zebpay Bitcoin Exchange has added support for Lightning-payments

Zebpay Cryptocurrency Exchange made Bitcoin payments available on the Lightning Network (LN). This is reported in the blog of the trading platform.

“Zebpay users around the world can now use bitcoins on their wallets to make instant payments on the Lightning Network,” representatives of the marketplace say.

To make the new option available, Zebpay users need to go into the wallet and activate it in the 'Lightning' tab. After that, it will be possible to make LN-payments for amounts from 1 Satoshi to 0.001 BTC.

Indian marketplace Zebpay was founded in 2015. In a short time, this exchange has become the largest cryptocurrency company in the country. However , last September, Zebpay had to stop operations in its native India due to the restrictive policy of the local central bank regarding cryptoactive assets. Now the exchange is based in Malta.

According to 1ML , currently 7678 nodes, 39,296 payment channels are operating in the Lightning Network, and the network capacity exceeds 1000 BTC.

Earlier, Zebpay announced its intention to open five offices in Europe.
