Of the 74% of Russians who are familiar with the term “bitcoin”, only 2% decided to buy cryptocurrency. Another 65% consider digital assets to be a bad investment. This is evidenced by data from a survey conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).
9% of all respondents have profound knowledge about cryptocurrency. At the same time, the survey organizers identified several groups, in which bitcoin awareness was significantly higher. So, 67% of respondents aged 18–24, 71% of people with higher education, 75% of residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, 66% of men and 69% of active Internet users heard about Bitcoin.
Nevertheless, VTsIOM sums up that Russians do not have much interest in Bitcoin and have rather weak actual knowledge about this financial instrument.
The survey involved 1600 respondents aged 18 years.
Recall that in January 2018, the actual knowledge of Russians about cryptocurrency was also extremely scarce . According to VTsIOM, out of 56% of respondents who said that they “know” about Bitcoin, only 13% possessed profound knowledge, another 14% only heard this term.
