VKontakte can launch its own cryptocurrency

The popular Russian social network VKontakte is exploring the possibility of creating its own cryptocurrency. About this RNS said a source familiar with the plans of the company.

According to the project, users will create individual accounts for the accumulation of cryptocurrency. Coins will be credited for the time spent on social networks and activity, as well as for interesting publications.

Cryptocurrency can be accumulated, transferred to other users, exchanged for tangible goods and converted through the VK Pay payment system. Nevertheless, the final decision on the launch of the project has not yet been made.

The VKontakte press service does not comment on this information.

Recall that in March 2018, VKontakte began to accept payment in cryptocurrency for advertising on its site.
