Ethereum founder Vitaly Buterin believes that the future of cryptocurrencies is in their “diversity and pluralism”, thus making it clear that he supports the Blockade Games developer’s proposal to merge the second bitcoin layer of the Lightning Network with the Ethereum blockchain.

Earlier this week, the Blockade Games team, which is working on the Neon District game, described in its blog the Lightning Network implementation process as an interface for Ethereum smart contracts. This solution is designed to provide instant payments in Bitcoins while simultaneously launching a series of events in other blockchains, for example, issuing Ethereum-based assets.

Commenting on the Blockade Games proposal, Vitaly Buterin emphasized that while the project developers call Bitcoin “the future of money”, he himself believes that the future of cryptocurrencies is in their diversity and pluralism.

In the commentary of CoinDesk CTO Blockade Games, Ben Heydorn said that during the first test of the code in the Rinkeby test network, developers were able to carry out a Lightning transaction that initiated the execution of a smart contract on the Ethereum network. In the next few weeks, the project is planned to expand to the main network of the air.

He also noted that the code for this type of Lightning transaction is still closed, but it will be made publicly available after the developers are fully confident in its readiness and security.

Speaking about the frequent disagreements between the supporters of Bitcoin and the broadcast, Heydorn suggested that these two cryptocurrencies are "two sides of the same coin."

“When a question rests on a person’s personal sovereignty, his privacy and autonomy, especially against the background of the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies and increasingly frequent social and political attacks against them, the differences will be a thing of the past, ” he said.

Recall that earlier this summer, Ethereum developer Kendrick Tan created a mixing service for the second most capitalized cryptocurrency. The basis of its development called Heiswap formed the basic specifications for such a service, described by Vitalik Buterin in May of this year.
