The Golos blogging community has split into two opposing camps due to the upcoming transition to the CyberWay blockchain, created on the basis of the EOS fork, with the repayment of nodes.
According to the user @romapush, cyber • Fund developers, who initially initiated hardfork networks, did not survey the community about the appropriateness of this update.
“We were given a choice between two options:“ we are preparing for the move, but continue to work on the blockchain Voice ”or“ we are preparing for the move and suspend work on the blockchain Voice ”. Community opinions were not asked about the forced conversion of GBG to Golos at the exchange rate below the exchange rate. This was a gross violation of the principle of DPoS and forced the community to choose an equally uncompromising course of action, ”writes @romapush.
So, he offered the community an alternative fork of the platform with the removal of cyber • Fund accounts from the chain.
“Thanks to the efforts of the initiative community members, the code for the Voice fork, which will be launched simultaneously with the launch of CyberWay, is already written and ready for use. This fork will save Golos.io in the form in which we know and love it, with the exception of one nuance: the cyber accounts of the Fund and its affiliated accounts will be removed from the chain, ”explained @romapush.
Among other things, an alternative fork will allow its supporters to keep their balance sheets in GBG tokens.
“According to the cyber • Fund plans, after moving to CyberWay, the Golos token will continue to trade on Bittrex, but will be used only within the Golos application. The synthetic GBG token traded on Bittrex (secured token) is planned to be replaced with a new CyberWay blockchain token using the wallet emulator. Obviously, in this situation, the fork of the Voice, which supports the old chain, will remain without its own token.
We consider this state of affairs to be illegitimate. It was the old chain that investors entrusted their funds to ICO, so the Golos and GBG tokens that are traded on Bittrex should belong to our fork. CyberWay, however, have the full right to pay for the listing of a new token on any exchange chosen by them and use it at its discretion, ”said @romapush.
Now supporters of the alternative fork, who have called themselves Golos Classic Workgroup, are proposing to the platform community to support them by sending an appeal to Bittrex to the support service of the Bittrex exchange about reluctance to switch to CyberWay.
It is known that the development of the golos.id page, where the alternative fork of the platform will be located, is handled by one person. According to @romapush, over the past few days, golos.id has added new functions: conducting operations with GOLOS / GBG tokens through the rudex.org exchange, access to the operational statistics of the Golos blockchain, and the ability to scan the history of the Golos blockchain accounts.
In turn, co-founder of cyber • Fund Konstantin Lomashuk voiced the position of CyberWay forks to BlockchainJournal.
“The Voice platform and Steemit are morally obsolete. We decided to abandon GBG, because it does not make sense, it is a stableblock three years ago. At CyberWay, it will be possible to do stablockcoins programmed on smart-contracts. GBG tokens will be converted to CyberWay tokens at an internal rate.
The problem is Voices economic, and we are developing a new blockchain to solve it. However, there are corrupt officials on the Golos who parasitize the ecosystem and extort money. The transition to the new blockchain is not entirely profitable for them, so they are trying to fork, and very eloquently write different things without doing anything.

CEO and co-founder of cyber • Fund, Marina Gureva, in a blockchainJournal comment, said that the @romapush statement that the expediency of the CyberWay fork was not discussed with users distorts reality, since decisions about all developments on the Golos platform are made by delegates.
“At first, the issues are discussed at the discord, then put to a vote of the delegates in the form discussed at the discord (since February last year). In the summer of 2018, delegates agreed to develop a prototype of the new blockchain CyberWay, in December 2018, the delegates voted to continue the work on CyberWay. Users were informed about the development throughout the entire period, ”she said.
According to her, the current user voting was initiated by the team after several requests from users (non-delegates) to hold a referendum.
“The decision on the move, in any case, is made by the delegates, as they keep the nodes. After the vote, we will ask delegates to take into account the opinion of the users of the Voice. Anyone can stick a Voice, since the code is open and available for use under a current license, ” Gureva said.
In addition, cyber • Fund supporters reported that on April 19, the Bittrex exchange plans to delist Golos and GBG tokens.
“At the moment we are clarifying all the details in support of the exchange. There is a possibility that this is a consequence of Bittrex spam from representatives of Voice Classic. In order to mitigate the situation, we agreed with the Kuna Stock Exchange about the listing of the BTC / Golos and GBG / USDT pairs, ” they wrote .
