In the future, each inhabitant of the planet will have their own cryptocurrency. This opinion was expressed by the Russian Internet ombudsman Dmitry Marinichev during a press conference at the NCH on Monday, May 20.

“Altcoins will be unlimited on planet Earth. Each person, each company, each process, each entity will have its own altcoin. But this is not in the literal sense of the cryptocurrency, as we are now practicing with this phenomenon. It will be something new from the point of view of the new paradigm of the digital economy and the interaction of the subjects of socio-economic and economic activity, ”Marinichev said.

However, in his opinion, this will not happen soon. Moreover, recent events in world politics are more likely to indicate a turn in the direction of the analog economy, rather than the digital one.

Marinichev touched upon the issue of cryptocurrency mining. In particular, he believes that Russia has already lost the war for mining power.

“I personally do not plan to wait for a miracle and be optimistic, because the main players today are Canada, the United States, where the price of electricity is two cents per kilowatt and there is no problem with energy reform, as in Russia. Even with cheap generating capacity, no one can really buy anything from anyone, and this problem is not mining as such, although it could absorb all these redundant, distressed electricity assets, ”he said.

Earlier, at the same press conference, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship, Nikolai Arefyev, said that cryptocurrency could ruin Russia.
