The Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab presented a service for remote electronic voting based on blockchain technology. The development was presented at the exhibition of the latest digital technologies in the electoral process, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the creation of the State Automated System "Elections", writes TASS.
With the help of the service, voters will be able to register for remote electronic voting on the government services portal in order to vote for the candidate on a voting day via smartphone, laptop or desktop computer.
“All technologies are patented, all documents are received, the system itself has been tested many times by voting at various levels. The system is 98% ready, we need data for the customer (add personification), and in principle we are ready to work for the whole of Russia, ”a representative of Kaspersky Lab said.
The company also introduced a digital polling station that integrates with the cloud-based electronic voting system. It includes an activator of the voting code, voting terminals and blockchain data printers, which are placed in the commissions that organize the elections.
In addition to Kaspersky Lab, the exhibition was attended by representatives of Rostelecom, Avtomatika concern, Rostec state corporation, Voskhod and Open Code companies, MSTU named after N.E. Bauman. Some of the presented electoral technologies will be applied this year, on a single voting day on September 8, other developments are presented as design solutions for future election campaigns.
“While some are grumbling, grumbling, and vanging about some alleged falsifications, we clearly, consistently, do not give a damn about these grunts, grunts and all kinds of insinuations and assumptions, we are on the same line. In order for the elections to be as transparent, open, accessible and understandable as possible for our citizens. And today we are taking another step in this direction, no one will knock us out of this way, ”said the chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova.
Recall that earlier in August, French cryptographer Pierreck Godrey hacked the Internet voting system developed by the Moscow Department of Information Technology using the blockchain.
