The Uzbek authorities will oblige local miners to pay for electricity at higher tariffs. This is stated in the relevant government decree .
According to the document, the cost of electricity in the extraction of cryptocurrencies will increase three times.
Departments have been given a month to bring regulatory legal acts in accordance with the resolution.
Such a sharp increase in tariffs for miners was explained by the country's authorities as “stimulating energy saving, increasing energy efficiency in economic and social sectors, as well as motivating the rational use of electric energy by consumers”.
Recall that last year Uzbekistan allowed foreign companies to open cryptocurrency exchanges, and also created a fund for the development of blockchain in the country.
