The judging of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 should be as transparent as possible, so voting for the winner must be transferred to the blockchain platform. This proposal was addressed to the director of the competition, John Ola Sandu, by the founder of the company Cryptocode and a member of the Belarusian Blockchain Association Alexander Lozben.
Every year @ Eurovision voting faces mistrust. I represent a crypto community in Belarus. Hey @jonolasand – let's go together @ Eurovision modern and trustworthy again.

In a comment to BlockchainJournal, Lozbén said that the increased attention to Eurovision is due not only to the entertainment of the competition, but also to the controversy surrounding its results. The introduction of DLT-technology would allow to solve the problem of voting transparency forever.
“We believe that such a move can be aroused by interest in technology, improve the quality of the competition and modernize it,” he said.
Among the platforms for voting, Cryptocode offers the Ethereum and EOS blockchains.
“We are considering several options, but this will depend on the reaction from Eurovision. Naturally, the voting system is easier to integrate into existing solutions, ”said Alexander Lozben.
At the same time, the company undertakes all the costs of implementing the initiative.
“From a technical point of view, this is not difficult, but it will take time to integrate with the current system. Our company is ready to do it absolutely for free, ”added the founder of Cryptocode.
He also stressed that if successful, the project could become a good prototype for the introduction of the blockchain into more complex systems, for example, in e-government.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will be held from 14 to 19 May in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Recall that in January, the leading technology solutions provider The Bitfury Group launched the Bitfury Surround division, which will deal with blockchain solutions for the music industry.
