Blockchain is one of the most important technologies that will change our lives. The founder of the Almaz Capital venture fund and the Center for the Development of Promising Technologies Alexander Galitsky is convinced of this, as he said in a joint interview with TechTalks head of Qiwi Sergei Solonin.

In particular, he believes that at the moment there are only a few main technological vectors that will determine the future for the next ten years.

“Blockchain and smart contracts are a change in our lives. There are four such technologies: artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain and smart contracts, quantum computing, synthetic biology. Everything else is mainstream, ” said Galitsky.

However, in his opinion, the Russian authorities are not taking enough steps to implement the technology of the distributed registry.

“It was possible to gather developers and say,“ Guys, we have the first country to use it for the Russian currency. ” Because it is clear that something must be attached to paper money … If any effort were made in this regard, Russia could take its place. But now it is too late, because in the world this is happening around the blockchain! ”, Galitsky noted.

One of the participants of the interview was also the general director of the Russian payment service Qiwi, the head of the FinTech association Sergey Solonin. He agreed that state policy in many respects plays a serious role in the development of digital technologies, stressing the need to create conditions for developers.

Solonin also touched on the topic of privacy, stating that at this stage it has almost been lost.

“It seems to me that we have already passed privacy, have already missed it – we are all in the digital world. Pandora's box is already open. If we consider our passport data as privacy, then we will wait for the next autopsy to take place at some centralized base and it’s clear that as long as it is in the centralized system, no data privacy is out of the question. ”

Earlier, Sergei Solonin said that in the long term cryptocurrency will compete with cash payments and will eventually replace them.
