The team of the blockchain browser Brave is conducting a round of financing for Series A, following which it intends to raise $ 30 – $ 50 million, CoinDesk reports, citing sources familiar with the situation.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, the capitalization of Brave after that will grow to about $ 133 million.
Brave Software representatives refrain from commenting for now.
Recall that two years ago, the Brave team, led by JavaScript creator Brendan Eich, held a tokenail, collecting $ 35 million in less than 30 seconds .
The proposed Brave model is to encourage the viewing of advertisements by Basic Attention Token (BAT) tokens, as well as the ability to make donations to publishers. In addition, the browser offers increased user privacy.
Note that the developers initially planned to use Bitcoin, but then stopped on the variant with BAT. It is noteworthy that almost from the very beginning, the Brave model met with aversion from major mainstream media.
