
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation opposes the introduction of cryptocurrency in the monetary system. This was during her speech in the State Duma said the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina, reports TASS.
She stressed that the regulator does not see an opportunity for digital currencies to perform the function of a money surrogate.
“We, in principle, of course, are opposed to cryptocurrencies being launched into our monetary system. We do not see this possibility that cryptocurrencies, as a matter of fact, fulfill here the function of monetary surrogates. This part is definitely not, "said Nabiullina.
At the same time, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation noted that the regulator is exploring the possibility of using the so-called “stable coins” – steylebcoins.
Recall, as reported by the media, according to the amendments to the Russian draft law “On digital financial assets”, it is the Bank of Russia that will regulate all operations with cryptoactive assets.
Earlier in the Central Bank of the Russian Federation stated that the document can be adopted during the spring session.
