Dagestani stole electricity from Rosseti for 4.4 million rubles for mining

Rosseti North Caucasus discovered the illegal connection of a mining farm in the city of Buinaksk. The damage from the theft of electricity is about 4.4 million rubles. This was reported by TASS representatives of the company.

“An act of non-contractual electricity consumption was drawn up on the owner of the object, A. Magomedov,” the press service of Rossety said.

It is reported that the attacker used the electricity for mining cryptocurrency.

The company has already transmitted information about the incident to law enforcement. In addition to paying for the damage incurred by “Rossetti”, Magomedov will face administrative punishment, and he may face criminal liability.

It is also worth noting that lately this is the fifth case of illegal mining farms in Dagestan. According to preliminary calculations, the amount of damage to Rosseti North Caucasus from the cases of theft of electricity for mining, detected from May to July of this year, exceeds 40 million rubles.

Recall earlier in China, law enforcement officers closed the mining farm because of one of the biggest thefts of electricity in the history of Jiangsu Province.
