In the Altai Territory, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia detained a citizen of Kazakhstan suspected of creating a cryptocurrency pyramid and declared internationally wanted. It is reported by Kommersant with reference to the official representative of the Ministry of Interior Irina Volk.

The detainee, whose name was not disclosed, attracted large sums of money, promising to trusting investors high profits from cryptocurrency.

In general, law enforcement officers reported at least 300 cases in which depositors handed over their money to the fraudster. One of the victims invested about 13.9 million tenge, which is more than 2.3 million rubles.

In early 2019, the attacker fled from Kazakhstan to Russia and was wanted by Interpol. He crossed the border … on horseback.

For some time the suspect lived in Barnaul, and later decided to move to Moscow. It was during the boarding of the train that he was detained by law enforcement officers.

At the moment, the question of the extradition of the attacker to Kazakhstan is being resolved. Until the decision is made, he will be detained.
