    Sberbank of Russia has requested data on income from operations with cryptocurrency from one of its clients, writes Forbes .

    The screenshot of the letter with the corresponding request was published on Facebook by the co-founder of the Tokenbox.io platform, Vladimir Smerkis, explaining that the letter was not addressed to him.

    Based on Article 7 of Federal Law No. 115 on combating money laundering, the bank asks an unnamed client to provide the following data within five days:

    – the address of the cryptocurrency wallet, which received funds from mining;
    – username or nickname used to complete transactions;
    – information about mining equipment, including device models, hashrate, power consumption, etc .;
    – documents on the ownership (lease) of mining equipment;
    – documents confirming payment of electricity;
    – documents confirming the hiring of personnel servicing the equipment;
    – extract from the history of operations of a cryptocurrency exchange in Excel format, containing data on the buyer, seller and transaction amounts.

    Among other things, the bank demanded a tax certificate for 2018 (f.2 personal income tax). Financial institution also threatened to suspend customer service, if the above data is not provided.

    Smerkis explained to the publication that the recipient of the letter actually transferred the funds received from operations with cryptocurrency to his bank account and informed the bank about it.

    According to Forbes, representatives of Sberbank confirmed the authenticity of the letter.

    Recall, the other day, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the regulation of cryptocurrency industry is no longer a priority for the authorities of the Russian Federation. According to the official, the popularity of Bitcoin and other digital currencies is in the past.
