Coinfirm: hackers crush bitcoins stolen from Binance, trying to cover their tracks (updated)

According to Coinfirm, the blokchain-company experts, on the afternoon of May 8, 7,000 BTC ($ 7.3 million) were transferred to new addresses from 7,000 bitcoins stolen from Binance 7,000 .

The remaining 5786 BTC (~ $ 35 million) for some time were intact on the purses to which the coins were originally transferred. After some time, the attacker from this amount sent 1227 BTC to two new addresses. 707 BTC were transferred to one of them, 520 BTC to the other.

According to the journalist and blockchain analyst Amy Castor, acting in this way, hackers are trying to cover their tracks.

“Fundamentals of money laundering: breaking up transactions into ever smaller amounts, after which it becomes more and more difficult to track them ,” Castor shared her opinion.

APDATE : The Block analysts came to the conclusion that the stolen from the hot wallet Binance 7070 BTC were subsequently distributed to 7 addresses, most of which are in Bech32 format.
