The largest bank of Japan called the launch date of the payment blockchain platform

The Japanese financial corporation Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and the American content delivery system Akamai are working to create a blockchain-based Global Open Network payment system. This is stated in the official press release .

Partners hope that the new platform will "significantly reduce transaction costs for all types of payment services and will significantly increase the number of processed transactions."

MUFG intends to promote the project, including through its impressive resources in the payment industry.

The launch of the Global Open Network will take place in the first half of 2020.
