Putin approved the strategy for the development of artificial intelligence in Russia until 2030

Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a national strategy for the development of artificial intelligence until 2030. The corresponding decree is published on the portal of regulatory legal acts.

According to the document, by December 15, the Russian government should develop and approve the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”, as well as make changes to the national program “Digital Economy”. The costs of implementing the strategy will be included in the federal budget for 2020-2030.

Each year, the Cabinet is obliged to provide Putin with a report on the progress of the program.

It is expected that by 2024, thanks to the introduction of AI technologies, the global economy will grow by at least $ 1 trillion.

Among the main tasks of the development of artificial intelligence:

• Research support. In particular, it was recommended that domestic scientists increase the number of scientific publications on this topic and take part in international discussions on it.
• Software development and development using AI.
• Improving the availability and quality of data, as well as the training of specialists.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Federation studied the possibility of introducing artificial intelligence into the Russian economy, public administration, banks, industry and agriculture.

Recall in June, Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov said that AI technology could increase annual GDP growth by 2% by 2030.
