British police will sell through cryptocurrency auction for more than half a million dollars

The Northern Ireland auction house Wilsons Auctions will hold two cryptocurrency auctions for approximately 500 thousand pounds (about $ 621 thousand). Coins were confiscated by UK police from a criminal.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and other cryptocurrencies will be sold at the highest price at auctions without a reserve. This means that the minimum sale price is not set for traded assets.

The online auction will begin on Wednesday, September 25, at 15:00 (Moscow time) and will last 24 hours. Digital assets will be divided into lots at 0.25-2 BTC, for other cryptocurrencies they will contain the corresponding number of coins.

15 lots of bitcoin will be put up for a second auction, also available for physical participation. Bidding will begin on Thursday, September 26, at 21:00 (Moscow time).

Cryptocurrency assets were seized from a criminal who illegally provided online data and hacked into cryptocurrency exchange services for thousands of pounds.

This is not the first cryptocurrency auction experience for Wilsons Auctions – in February, the auction house sold coins confiscated from drug dealers from the darknet.
