Investor Mark Mobius considers the cryptocurrency secured by gold

Mark Mobius, a well-known investor in emerging markets and founder of Mobius Capital Partners, expressed fears regarding blockchain technology in a conversation with CNBC and said that the cryptocurrency provided with gold would be “quite interesting”.

Mobius considers blockchain a “risky" technology because of the conviction of many that it is completely safe:

“People say,“ Blockchain cannot be hacked. ” No, you can. Everything that is created by man can be hacked. And this can lead to a big crisis, ”the investor said.

He added that “cryptocurrency secured by gold will be“ quite interesting ”.

Note, the other day, Paxos launched a gold-linked cryptocurrency asset based on Ethereum.

Mobius also said that a generation that “believes in the Internet” is turning to cryptocurrencies.

“People trust the dollar because they are sure that with it they can buy something. To a certain extent, with the help of cryptocurrencies you can also buy something, and if you believe in it, then it’s normal. ”

Recall, recently Mobius called digital assets “psycho-currencies”, since, in his opinion, they are based on the faith of investors in the growth of this type of assets.

Nevertheless, earlier the investor suggested that he would buy bitcoin if its growth continued.
