Two startups whose activities are related to the development of blockchain technologies have teamed up to allow Amazon users to make purchases using Ethereum.

In a press release from the payment crypto company CLIC Technology, it is said that cooperation with the decentralized ecosystem Opporty has begun. Together, the companies intend to work on creating a browser extension that will work as an application, allowing customers of the Amazon online store to pay for purchases with Ethereum cryptocurrency. Note that Amazon does not accept cryptocurrency.

To achieve this goal, Plasma Cash technology will be used, which was introduced last March by Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum. The concept introduced by companies resembles the Lightning Network (LN) technology as it is a scaling solution for payments. CLIC Technology notes that this project will bring the modern crypto-economy closer to reality. It is expected that Plasma Cash will significantly speed up the speed of transactions compared to the indicators typical for the Ethereum blockchain.

It is noteworthy that the two companies intend to create similar tools for other cryptocurrencies, in particular, support for ERC-20 and ERC-721 standards is being considered. By the way, the CLICPay cryptocurrency payment platform, developed by CLIC Technology, is currently in a pilot phase.
