The TRON Foundation presented detailed information on the integration plan with the BitTorrent project Atlas . The acquisition of BitTorrent was closed in July this year.
According to the Atlas project, BitTorrent will connect its peer-to-peer network to the TRON blocker in the first stage to use the TRX token.
Users of the peer-to-peer network will be able to receive special services and additional functions for tokens, including faster download speeds. Creators of content will have the opportunity to reward supportive distribution (sidov). It is assumed that this will encourage the latter to allocate a wider channel for distribution and to store files longer, which will lead to an increase in speed.
"To start with, the product will assume faster loading, more sideways, no mining and backward compatibility. It is adapted to modern realities: mobile, integrated and transparent.
Ultimately, we strive to support all creators of content, as well as their communities, by eliminating intermediaries and making direct distribution of content available to users , "said CEO of the project Tron Justin San.
He noted that the ultimate goal of the project is to "give all content creators and their communities the opportunity to remove the intermediary and allow direct distribution of content to users."
The statement stressed that BitTorrent will continue to provide its basic services for free, and the new functionality will be backward compatible – the participants of the hands using other torrent clients will not have any problems.
