Bitpoint Crypto-Exchange is going to pay $ 30 million

to victims of a hacker attack
The Japanese crypto-exchange Bitpoint is going to compensate for the damage to users who have suffered due to a recent hacker attack.
Last week a hacker attack was made on the Bitpoint trading platform. Initially, Bitpoint representatives reported that the stock exchange lost ¥ 3.5 billion in cryptocurrency, that is, approximately $ 32 million. Yesterday, the company reported that the damage was much greater, and another $ 2.3 million was stolen.
Genky Oda, president of Bitpoint, apologized to the users of the trading platform on the day of the incident and a few days later the company announced its intention to pay damages to all victims. For this purpose, $ 3 million will be allocated. Interestingly, the funds will be returned to users in the cryptocurrency, and not in Fiat. A crypto exchange confirmed that hot wallets had been damaged, and attackers could not get access to cold wallets. The platform has not yet restored its activities.
