The Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF), a charitable organization founded by Binance, launched a blockchain-based donation portal . As representatives of the company told BlockchainJournal, the presentation of the new platform was held as part of the UN World Investment Forum in Geneva.
The system is already accepting donations in bitcoins, ethereum and Binance Coin. In the near future, BCF will open funds to support flood and landslide victims in eastern Uganda.
Presenting the charity portal, SEO Binance Changpeng Zhao spoke about the impact of the blockchain on donation fees.
“Conceptually, you can fairly easily track cash flows at all levels, and we can make this process 100% transparent. In addition, we guarantee that the entire amount of donations will reach the final recipients, and all costs will be covered by Binance, both by the company and the foundation, ”said Zhao.
BCF intends to use blockchain technology to achieve UN goals on sustainable development.
“BCF will use blockchain technology to help the UN attract funding, including for 1 billion people living in poverty, ” said Helen Hay , head of BCF and Goodwill Ambassador for Industrialization in Africa.
We add that during the event, the Tron Foundation project allocated BCF $ 3 million to accelerate the introduction of blockchain into the field of charity.
We will remind, earlier in October, representatives of Binance stated that they were considering the possibility of adding new stablecocks in addition to the three “stable coins” already represented on the platform.
