Chinese search giant Baidu has announced the launch of the Baidu Blockchain Engine (BBE) operating system, created specifically for developing decentralized applications.
The basis of the new technology platform is Baidu's ABC technology strategy, which involves the use of artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing.
The cloud platform is also designed to eliminate the high cost of data storage and lack of computing power.
“This makes the development of DApp as simple as creating a mobile application,” the company noted.
BBE will provide developers with multi-network and mid-level frameworks, as well as templates for smart contracts and DApp.
"BBE is compatible with Baidu's private cloud, which allows customers to implement DApp for various business scenarios using the flexible blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) platform," the statement said.
Special attention in the new operating system is given to data protection and privacy mechanisms, thanks to a trusted computing environment and security audit of smart contracts.
Recall that in June 2018, Baidu introduced the blockchain engine X-Chain, compatible with Bitcoin and Ethereum protocols .
