Ethereum startup Aragon is exploring the possibility of launching the aragonOS platform to create smart contracts on the Polkadot protocol. This was told by the technical director of the startup Jorge Iskierdo, writes CoinDesk .
According to him, the additional network will not affect the work of Aragon that started in November 2018 in the Ethereum blockchain.
“The idea is to make the majority of aragonOS transactions virtually free and highly optimized, ” Iskierdo explained.
Meanwhile, the developers of Ethereum suggest that for them this should serve as a wake-up call.
“Aragon did not say that they migrate from Ethereum, they are just exploring options. But I think this is a sign of early warning from one of the most important ecosystem of applications on the network. I think we should take it into account, ”said Ethereum developer Lane Rettig.
Polkadot is a protocol that provides compatibility between different blockchains. Developed by Ethereum co-founder Gavin Wood, the protocol is positioned as an addition to the Ethereum smart contract platform. Its official launch is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.
Recall that in January the Polkadot team announced plans to hold another ICO in order to raise $ 60 million .
