A new record was reached on July 5th. On this day, the mark of 74.55 TH / s was passed, which is 109% more than in the same period last year.
On July 6, this figure dropped slightly to 70.2 TH / s per second.
The previous maximum was reached on June 29, 2019. Then the bitcoin network hashrate was 68.6 TH / s per second.
According to experts, an increase in the activity of Bitcoin-miners leads to an increase in the security of all transactions on the blockchain. The higher the hashrate, the lower the risk of attack 51%, since the network controls a large number of miners.
It is also noted that the mining pools continue to increase capacity against the background of increasing the cost of the largest cryptocurrency.
