Bitcoin micropay network Lightning Network continues to grow steadily. So, according to 1ml , over the past 30 days, the number of active nodes has grown by almost 15% and currently has 6090.

During the same period, the number of channels rose to 24,680 (+ 27.4%), the network capacity increased to 657.14 BTC, or almost $ 2.4 million at the current rate (+ 15%).

Recall that the mark of 600 BTC was overcome in late January.

Meanwhile, the global action Lightning Torch, which was joined earlier this week by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, continues its march across the planet. Over the past 24 hours, the torch was at the well-known trader and investor WhalePanda, after which he was transferred to China to the user Yuki, and from that transferred Daniel Dabeku from Liberland.

    On behalf of @Liberland_org I hold the #LNTrustChain ⚡️ TORCH ?

The movement is real. Post me an invoice for 3110000 satoshi and accept this honor. https://t.co/R3CS86GuIR

The action is organized on the principle of the Olympic torch relay – to the initial payment of 100,000 satoshi (0.001 BTC) each new participant adds another 10,000 satoshi, challenging the next user. At the moment, the cumulative amount in the relay has increased to 3,100,000 Satoshi (0.31 BTC).

Earlier, BlockchainJournal wrote about a developer from Spain, who created a plugin that allows you to get limited access to a closed WiFi network for a Lightning payment in the amount of 100 Satoshi.
