Ethereum startup Parity Technologies has launched a beta version of the Substrate tool that allows you to create customized blockchains for decentralized applications. This is reported in the company's blog .
According to the developers, the open source Substrate technology is “as versatile and flexible as possible when creating blockchain solutions. The service API allows users to create their own consensus mechanisms, or use existing ones.
Written in the Rust programming language, the Substrate tool is integrated with the Polkadot interoperability protocol developed by Parity.
“When creating the Substrate, we took into account all the lessons we learned while creating Ethereum and Polkadot ,” said Parity founder Gevin Wood.
Substrate is currently licensed under the GPLv3. However, the Parity team plans to transfer this solution to an Apache 2.0 license for “maximum development freedom.” Subsequently, we are confident in the company, the decision will be taken by major players in the corporate sector.
“With Substrate, you do not need to know everything, and there is no need to create a completely new blockchain. It is only necessary to do what is necessary in order to obtain a chain that corresponds to the specific parameters you specified, with properties that allow solving specific problems , ”added Wood.
Recall that in the fall Parity Technologies integrated an early version of the Casper PoS update for Ethereum into the Substrate blockchain platform.
