Almost a third of freelancers living in the United States would like to receive payment in cryptocurrency , and not through banks and other official systems. This is evidenced by the results of a survey of the recruitment platform Humans.net.

The study involved 1100 people selected at random. None of them had shown an open interest in cryptocurrency.

According to the report, 18% of respondents said they would like to receive all payments in digital assets, and 11% – a part.

Many freelancers work with foreign companies and often face cross-border translations. At the same time, there are currently not so many ways to get the money earned. This can be done through money transfer platforms, such as Western Union, through online platforms (for example, PayPal), or via bank transfer.

The disadvantage of Western Union and PayPal are high commissions, ranging from 5 to 10%. In the US, PayPal charges 2.9% + 0.3%, but in other regions the amount of commission may vary significantly.

At the same time, basic cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum , allow freelancers to receive payments almost instantly with low fees, especially when it comes to large amounts.

In official systems, unlike cryptocurrency, small payments are processed faster. However, when the amount of transfer exceeds $ 10 thousand, additional documents are required and the processing period is extended.

All these factors contribute to the growth of interest in payment in cryptocurrency.
