The well-known cybersecurity company Check Point has published the results of its research, which demonstrates a nearly 400% increase in malware attacks for hidden mining on Apple iPhones.
These attacks occur with the use of the malicious Coinhive script, which continues to occupy the top position in the Check Point rating, beginning in late 2017.
Check Point experts noted:
Such attacks serve as a reminder that mobile devices are often underestimated. Therefore, it is extremely important that these devices are comprehensively protected and cease to be a weak link in protecting corporate security.
Coinhive now has influence on 19% of organizations worldwide. Check Point researchers also noted a significant increase in attempts to use Coinhive on PCs and devices with the Safari browser.
