After entering into partnerships with the Ripple project, in particular with the Xpring division, the payment service provider announced support for the Ripple altcoin.
According to the press release, BitPay customers will now be able to use the third cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization when making cross-border payments. As part of the collaboration, the company will also integrate BitPay Wallet with the Xpring developer platform.
On the eve it became known that the Coil platform, designed to monetize web content, also begins to support Ripple. Coil also works with GateHub, the XRP Ledger service provider. The platform allows users to accept funds in XRP with subsequent conversion to EUR, USD, BTC, ETH.
Recall that in August Xpring provided Coil with a grant of 1 billion XRP coins, which is approximately $ 260 million at the current rate at that time. The funds will be used to improve the Coil business model by simplifying the mechanism for content monetization through Interledger Ripple – this protocol allows streaming micropayments.
